Iowa
Michener
Montana
Minnesota
New Mexico
San Francisco State

I'll be out of the country for the majority of acceptance/rejection time (Jan 27th-Mar 8th eeep!) but I know I'll try and sneak online whilst traveling through Central America....

Good Luck to everyone!

Need to be around people who think about this stuff all the time...

I applied to Iowa, Syracuse, Cornell, UC Irvine, and Columbia. Now the neurotic waiting period begins.

My schools

OK, here are mine. Oh, I'm in for fiction.

Brown
Cornell
Johns Hopkins
Michigan
UMass Amherst
UT Austin Michener Center
UC Irvine
Syracuse

Not very competitive schools, eh? I'm expecting universal rejection...

Re: My schools

I'm right there with you. Since I didn't want to so much as allow myself to be in the position of being tempted to apply to a school for which I'd have to take out tens of thousands in loans, I only applied to places that either fully fund or provide residency status for accepted students. Which means that the acceptance rates for my schools all hover around 2%. :/ Why did this seem like a good idea 6 months ago?

Cornell
Louisiana State U
Michener Center
Syracuse U
U Arkansas
UC Irvine
U Houston
U Iowa (a former professor made me...)
U Mass Amherst
U Michigan
U Montana
UNLV
U Oregon
U Virginia
U Wisconsin Madison
Washington U

Ok, looking at that list I can't believe I ever finished all of those applications...

As the time creeps closer I'm starting to really question my logic about being out of the country.

I'm going to change my voicemail on my phone to redirect correspondence to my email or to my sister, but man. . .

What was I thinking?

For fiction:

Irvine
UVA
Cornell
Michener
Michigan
Iowa
Brown
Hopkins

I'm going to be a couple states away from home in March, doing a residency in NYC. Terrible timing, but what can you do? Problem is, I want to have all the joy/terror of opening the envelopes myself.

I applied to University of Georgia, and Georgia College and State University (I didn't want to move out of state if I could help it, so I only applied in-state on the first go-round).

I got an acceptance from UGA today, 2/2.

Still waiting to hear back from GCSU, but their deadline was just yesterday so it will be a couple of weeks at least.

Anyone apply? Any news on acceptances / rejections would be appreciated...

Re: Georgia, Denver, Utah Creative Writing PhD

I haven't seen anything from any of these programs, save for a MFA admit from Georgia.

Speaking of Creative Writing PhD programs, I am considering making a separate list just for those acceptances/rejections. Would this be helpful to anyone?

The nonfiction program at Iowa is not part of the "Writer's Workshop."

I think the distinction is an important one for people who are keeping track of what's going on in Dey House right now.
