It seems like Brown have got in contact with everyone and their dog... has anyone else not heard a thing yet?
6 of 15: Accepted at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign via email.

4 acceptances
2 waitlists
0 rejections
I was just awarded a $19,000 fellowship from FSU. If anyone else got nominated, you should hear soon, apparently.

Pretty cool, especially since it's the only place I have received a funded offer from at this point. But, I still have a stack of waitlists and yet-to-be-notifieds to wade through before I make a decision.
How many years will you receive the fellowship stipend?

Syracuse?

I've seen some news from Syracuse trickling in. Any idea what's going on up there?

I called to check my application status and apparently the posts on the grad cafe were for offers that came with university fellowships. A new batch of notifications will be out in the middle of next week.
Don't toy with me. I've already said my goodbyes to Berkeley. Is this for real?

Just got accepted with $5000 fellowship and TA for the 1st year, followed by stipend of $13000 following years!

Exhilarated!!!
Congratulations! Sounds like a great package at a great school.

Does anyone know if the following holds:

Yale + No Notification = Rejection

or

CUNY + No Notification = Rejection
Wouldn't claim to "know" either, but if the posts on this site and grad cafe contain any degree of reliability, then it stands to reason as follows:
Yale does mean probable rejection (they sent out acceptances and waitlists on the same day and a fair amount of people claimed to be accepted/waitlisted)
CUNY means little. They tend to drag out their notifications if previous years are any indications, and only 2 people or so claimed acceptances (pretty small for an incoming CUNY class). So technically, of course, every acceptance to a school that is not yours reduces the probability of acceptance, but it looks like CUNY is still on

0/4 but according to tgc 0/12

All my hopes and dreams are on Columbia right now.
So I've posted this before and didn't receive any responses but thought I would try again. I was accepted via phone over a week ago and still have not received an official email or letter from the department. I was wondering whether (a) anyone else is in this position, and (b) whether it would be appropriate to contact the professor who I spoke to, or whether I should just wait it out.

This happened to me last year. If I were you I would try and wait a little longer--maybe until the 2 week mark if nothing hinges on finding out sooner (scheduling visits, etc.). At that point I would get in touch with the professor. Of course, there are ways you can word the email so that it won't sound like you are finding fault with that professor or the department. Just explain that you are trying to make a decision and would really like to have the details of their offer in writing before doing so.

Someone posted above about Berkeley doing staggered admissions with a new set of acceptances to go out later this week - anyone have any news about other schools that do staggered admissions?

I know CUNYs one of them, any others?

Yesterday someone said that they have spoken with someone from the department and was told that a batch of acceptances would go out today. Anyone hear anything?
Some acceptances on TCG... anyone have any more info? Number of offers/applicants? Thanks.

GO CANADIAN HOCKEY!!!!!
My email didn't talk about any of that, sorry. Just funding info and a deadline of March 31.

I'm assuming I was rejected since I didn't get a phone call today, but I haven't gotten a rejection email either. Probably couldn't afford it anyway without a fellowship, but...blech.
I am waiting too. Didn't receive a phone call today, but also have not gotten a rejection e-mail like some others.

Here's to hoping there are more calls to make.

Good luck!
Do such strange things exist? I leave it to the floor to discuss.
If you go back some pages, this has been discussed.
How have you fared thus far with admissions to US programs?

At a glance, the number of 'I' results up on thegradcafe.com that are rejections is proportionally greater than that of, e.g., 'A' results, so I'm hoping to hear some anecdotes that comfort me -- a soon-to-be international applicant -- about my chances at the top US programs.

Best of luck to all who have yet to hear back from their preferred programs.
I'm international and I only applied to 2 US schools, both private (rejected from both, but they were Ivies I didn't have much chance at anyway). I didn't bother applying to the public schools (although I would have liked to) because many of them actually said right on their websites something along the lines of "funding for international students is extremely limited. because teh department is committed to funding all of its accepted students, it is extremely unlikely international students will be accepted." I guess we cost them more because the school is government funded so they have to REALLY want you to make it worth it. I didn't want to waste my money on the application fees.

Holla.
Anyone want to claim this one? And if so, are there any details you are willing to divulge?
Hi,
Look on the bottom of the last page (p.29).
Over and out.

The TGC post is mine. Just received an email. I guess the rumors were true that notices would go out today.
My code to submit a post just now was "mounded baby" ... whaaaaaat???!
Mine just said 'punish President'.
If you're like me, then you've dealt with the frustration of checking OSU's website for your app status only to read this crap:

This is not a valid time to access the system. Please try again later.

Where do they get off telling me when I can or can't neurotically refresh my app status? If it's past 1:30 AM and I'm still awake, trolling tgc and wgi, then I deserve to see to my app status so I can read this:

Your application has been received and is under review. Please refer to this page for updates.

I'm on the (unranked) waitlist at Wisconsin, and that's what their website says. Unlike OSU, Wisconsin affords me the luxury of checking my status whenever I please. At this hour, I can't be sure of my OSU status (though it was AcadReview the 20 or so times that I checked it today). If I should be so lucky as to have offers from both schools (which I won't), then surely I'll remember this grave injustice.

P.S. To those who've received offers from Wisconsin: I humbly implore you to accept one of your many offers from top 10 programs so that we lowly, state-school folk (who've been workin' somethin' fierce to keep up with y'all ivy leaguers) might feast upon the succulent, soul-nourishing crumbs that fall from your lofty table.
I'm in the same boat with you as to OSU. Cares weigh heavily upon me.
